Not every day in good ole RVA is gorgeous – we do occasionally get cold, blustery, gray days that force us to play indoors around here. So when that happens, we have to make a choice: do we reschedule our family session for a more lovely day, or do we enjoy a morning of family photos at home? Lesley, James, and Georgia decided on the latter, and invited me into their Museum District home on a chilly Sunday morning in November.
Georgia was a little timid of me at first, but was a big fan of the camera, so we started off in a comfortable spot – in Mom and Dad’s bed – looking at old family photos and getting more familiar with the strange lady with the camera. Georgia enjoyed luxuries like jumping on the bed, and playing with Daddy’s wallet, and holding the shiny pieces in Mommy’s jewelry box, before we decided to move downstairs to the family room.
Georgia showed me her camera, and we took turns taking pictures of each other on the living room floor. Then Daddy took out the drum set, and Georgia showed me her talents on the snare.
James was also interested in getting some photos down the street at the VMFA, so we bundled up, got some photos outside across the street, and then headed to the museum to see what we could see.
As winter gets closer, family photos at home are the way to go to capture comfortable, real-life moments. Book your session now for 2016!
