Happy Tuesday, fellow humans. Congratulations – we’ve made it to May, and what’s even better, today is Cinco de Mayo. So, read up on your Mexican history and join me in a distance toast to the underdog. Cheers! *clink*
Mother’s Day is rapidly approaching (as in, it’s this Sunday), and most of us won’t be able to get together with our mothers in a traditional form. For lots of reasons, we can’t see our mothers and mother-figures this year. You can send her flowers, or a card, and I’m sure she’d love it. But she really misses your face. So maybe instead of sending her those things, I have another idea of something you can get her: your face, in an updated family photo.
I wrote in April about the Porchrait sessions I’m offering, and I’m extending the offer of Porchraits through the end of May. For $70, I’ll come to your sidewalk and take updated photos of your family on your front porch from a distance, and then edit and send you three digital files.
During the month of May, I’ll also print a 5×7″ photo of your favorite image from the session, and send it to your mom or mom-figure of choice in a nice box. For an extra $5, I’ll send a 5×7 to your mom-in-law or mom-figure-in-law, too. Your mom won’t even know you didn’t lift a finger to send her that Mother’s Day gift. And she probably won’t even care that it’s late, because she can’t remember what day it is, either.
If you’re avoiding Mother’s Day, and would rather shower your partner with a May gift instead, that’s no problem. I’ll send your 5×7 print to whatever address you provide.
Porchrait sessions cost $70. Half of that automatically goes to the Giving Wall, a charitable organization in Richmond that helps RVA residents with a one-time need, even during non-COVID times. Even if you decide a Porchrait’s not for you, consider donating to Giving Wall and helping a fellow Richmonder having a harder time than you right now.
