I like to keep cards and notes from the people I care about. When I’m having a hard day, I sometimes like to reread them as a little pick-me-up. They make me smile, and the inside jokes make me laugh, like my own personal yearbook.
Along the same lines, sometimes I like to reread my clients’ reviews and testimonials. They inspire me and lift my spirits on a rainy day (or week) when I can’t go outside and shoot, and they help me remember why I went into business (and some days, why I stay in business).
“[You] made this whole process easy, stress-free and fun! And we could not be happier with the end result. I have two young boys, and they did not complain even once about the photo shoot!! We all had fun! Thank you so much!”
“Allison was amazing. She took wonderful photos of our baby girl and did a great job positioning everyone. We are beyond pleased with the photos. Allison was very easy to work with, open to suggestions, and brought some great ideas of her own. If you’re looking for someone to take family photos, you’ve found the right company. She has actual prints for you to review when you meet to look over everything and decide what you’re going to order. A great photographer!”
“I’d recommend APP to any friend who is looking for someone to help capture the essence of their family and a snapshot of their lives without all the “fuss” and formality. We will treasure the pictures and prints for years to come. The preparation that APP did before our session helped make the most of our time…”
“Allison is a great listener which makes it so easy to work with her. She captured amazing shots in the mediocre lighting of our location! She made the process feel less like work and more like fun.”
While I’m over the moon that my clients love their photos and leave such great reviews about my technical expertise (yay, VCU degree coming through!), the reviews that make me really happy are those that mention the fun we had, or how easy our session was, or how effortless I made the process seem to them. I always want my clients to love their images, but I also want them to appreciate how we got them, too. I want my clients to enjoy their time together as a family, and remember how we blew bubbles in the park, or the cozy snuggles on the couch, and how the time just flew by. I want our ordering session to be a fun and friendly reunion where we get to look at the photos we got, and laugh about the things we did, the faces the kids made, and the inside jokes from our session together.
We could all use more inside jokes for our personal yearbook. If you’re interested in summer evening strolls or couch cozies of your own, check out my family portfolio and then tell me how you’d like to spend your time as a family.
