Toddler dances on the couch beside her pregnant mom. Both feet are in the air as she prances

Somewhere between the morning sickness and the swollen ankles is the pregnancy sweet spot.

You’re nesting, things feel decent, you have that glow.

You're in the deep breath between what was and what will be, dancing between ready and not ready in the same hour.

A pregnant woman sits barefoot in a rocking chair on her patio in Richmond, VA and rubs her dog's head. She is smiling down at the dog and the dog is leaning toward her. She's wearing stretchy pants and a long casual shirt.

You find yourself thinking about the things that will naturally end as your pregnancy gives way to being a bigger family.

Sleeping in, showering alone, spontaneously leaving the house.

You’ll gladly trade all of those to build your family, but you also want to remember what life feels like before everything changes.

Let’s celebrate your favorite parts of life right now even as you eat for two and prepare for the future.

A pregnant woman stands near a window in her home and her husband kisses her shoulder tenderly.

“Really, I am beautiful.”

"I just hung one of the pregnancy pictures in my home office. I felt so good hanging it! I thought, "You know, I may feel like an achy, chubby barrel but... really, I am beautiful." Thank you for giving me this moment!"

A lifestyle photography experience at home or around your family’s favorite spot in Richmond, where everyone is the most comfortable and we can document the parts of life you want to remember.

What’s included:

  • Guidance through the process, including a prep guide and getting-to-know-you form to help us create a session that reflects your family and what you want to remember

  • ~ 60 minutes of photography at your home or nearby

  • Professional photo editing

  • All of the edited, high resolution digital images from our session

  • $200 print credit to use in the gallery store

Half of the $1200 session fee is due to book; the other half is due after our session, before the photos are delivered.

What to Expect

  • Before Your Session

We’ll go over everything and answer all your questions before we work together. Then, half of the session fee and a signed contract will hold your spot on my calendar. I’ll send you a getting-to-know-you form to help us create a session that reflects what you want to remember about right now.

  • The Session

I’ll meet you in Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Powhatan, or Hanover. We’ll hang out for about an hour, doing the things you like to do together as a family, from taking a walk to cooking together, or snuggling up on the couch.

  • After Your Session

I’ll edit your photos, and within two weeks I’ll email you with a link to your photo gallery. You'll be able to download the edited photos straight from your gallery, and use the included print credit to make prints, books, or wall art so you can get your favorite images off your computer into the places your family can enjoy them.

The A’s to your Q’s

  • Generally, 28-34 weeks into your pregnancy is a good time for photos. If you’re already past that point, let me know, so we can expedite your session and take it off your to-do list.

  • May I suggest a 30 minute Snapshot Session instead?

  • I have a newborn + maternity package that’ll make you feel productive and efficient. Pair a 30-minute maternity session with a newborn session for an easy way to document both sides of your delivery date.

  • Every Mama-to-be has her own expectations for maternity photography. That means that the questionnaire I send you after you book will be really helpful as we plan our session!

Want a more specific example of a maternity session? Here’s a blog post that might help.

“I had nothing to be concerned about”

“Allison did an excellent job of helping us choose our perfect location for photos and even helped us pick our outfits for the day, which was a giant help. I was apprehensive about maternity photos (I don't like the way they turn out for others all the time) but I had nothing to be concerned about. Our photos were gorgeous and I absolutely love them! We can’t wait to have Allison do our in-home newborn photos, too.”
